Week of Laying Low

So I have not run much this week. My son came down with conjunctivitis Friday night and then I ended up catching it and started having nasty eyes as of Monday. Still not back to normal :( I did get a run in Sunday and on Wednesday. #nationalrunningday

Other than that I've been laying low. I took Tuesday and Wednesday off from work. I looked like I got punched in both eyes. On top of them being totally bloodshot and nasty, the area around them was all puffy and purply-red. TMI? lol

At least I'm not posting any pictures!

My birthday was Saturday and I did get quite a few awesome gifts. A couple bottles of wine from friends, my new raised bed vegetable garden that my dad and husband put in for me, a gift card to T.J. Maxx from a gf, an awesome scarf, candle & some O.P.I. nail polishes from the bestie, and my theme gift from my brother.

My brother's birthday is the day before mine. He is 5/31/87 and I am 6/1/84. Geminis :) We started doing themed gifts each year a couple years ago. Last year it had to be something centered around astrology/being a Gemini. This year it had to be running/exercise related. I was fine with that. We each had idea of what we wanted and he got me exactly what I wished for :)

These L.L.Bean Multisport Sunglasses:
The photo doesn't do the purple frames justice. They are beautiful!
lol

I never get sick (I think I say this a lot, lol) and when I do it is awful. Seems to be ten times worse than what other family members get. Life's way of making it equal for all. Ha!

Anyway...

Have you ever had pink eye? Is that too personal? I have no boundaries with this post.
This is my first time with it. Made me think of this:

Great movie right?

How has your running been this week?

                                                         xoxo,

  1. TMI would have been more like if you could have described any oozing and that sort of thing ;)

I was off ill last week, I don't know what it was - flu, virus, food poisoning, but I also NEVER get sick so it was awful. Well I haven't been super well since about March... but this is really the first year in at least a decade where my health has been less than stellar!

I bet your sunglasses are really nice!

I've had pink eye, yes, a long time ago. Like in the 80's. But it's not pleasant.

    1. Ahh! It's awful. Still not totally in the clear. My eyes look a lot better, but they're still itchy. Sorry you've been sick since March! Not cool.

  2. I've seen a lot of pink eye in my day as a teacher. I'm sure I had it as a kid but I haven't in a long time.

    1. I hope you don't ever catch it! It's hard when you have your own child and are trying to take care of theirs. I probably caught it from him before he was showing signs of it.

  4. Ugh, pink eye is the worst. It's super contagious and just a pain to deal with. I was a biology major, so throughout college and grad school I would pick it up from time to time from microscopes, which was really unfun. Hope it clears up for your family quickly! Enjoy your new sunglasses--they look really pretty!

    1. Thanks! I'm almost there. I can't believe it's been almost a week though and my eyes still aren't one hundred percent yet. I love the sunglasses though!

    1. Thanks! I finally bought myself a handheld water bottle from Nathan Sports, so even on the shorter summer runs I can stay hydrated. I sweat so much!
