Becoming a Lean Lifting Machine

I thought I would show you all a little of what I've been up to the past 8 weeks.

I shoveled some snow after one of our bigger storms in December and had a nagging pain in my left shoulder for a few weeks. It was just a slight sharp pain that would occur a few times a day if I moved my arm in just the wrong way.

Being a physical therapist, I cannot afford to have any "bum parts". I decided I needed to do some strengthening. One of the most common issues I treat is rotator cuff tendonitis and rotator cuff tears. I did not need this to happen to me down the road.

Prevention is key.

However, I didn't want to start a strengthening program just for my shoulders. I wanted to work my whole body and start building up my muscle mass all over.  More muscle = higher metabolism = lower body fat percentage.

In addition to starting a strengthening program, I have over-hauled my diet too.  I'm eating cleaner, more whole foods essentially and less processed crap. I'm eating more fruits and veggies throughout my day than I ever have. I think I'm actually getting the recommended number of servings per day (5-7)!!

The strength program I'm following I found on BodyBuilding.Com - It's Jamie Eason's LiveFit Program.
Have any of you ever heard of it?

This is the program: Jamie Eason's LiveFit Trainer

I love it.  I had gained some weight over the winter months. Weight that I had kept off for about a year and a half. I had gained about 11 pounds back of the 22 I had lost. This is a lot on a small person.

I have now lost that weight and I'm on the track to losing more :)

Here are a couple pics to show some progress. I'll post another progress pic in a week :)

Week 1

Week 6

Small changes, but I can feel them. Between the two sets of pics there is only a 6 pound difference. When I post next weeks pics there will be a 6 pound difference between them as well, for around 12 pounds lost.

My pants are looser, I feel stronger, I feel more energetic, and my booty is lifting!

Thanks for stopping in guys!
