Hope everyone's new year is off to a spectacular start! I am off to a good start with my running and getting this butt back into gear after the holidays. It has been so cold in Maine the past two weeks though, so most of my running has been inside on the treadmill.

Noah turned 9 this summer. He is a pretty fit kid. He has practically no body fat and he's pretty strong. However, his endurance is not the best. He started soccer this past Sunday, and because we've been running together I could really see the improvement in his stamina.

If left untreated this often leads to a tear of the rotator cuff. Continued improper movement of the glenohumeral joint (the ball and socket) because the scapula isn't mobilized can cause this. This tends to be very prevalent in the mid 40s to mid 50s age group. However, anyone can have this happen.

This race was on Sunday, July 14th. I signed up for this half over the winter and then planned a camping trip in the area with my family and my parents. My mom ended up taking me to the race so the boys could stay at the campground and swim/bike/play.

So summer weather is finally upon us here in mid-coast Maine. We reached 86 degrees Thursday and we hit mid 90s Friday. The weatherman showed that the ozone around the mid-coast specifically was bad Thursday through Sunday. On top of all this Maine summer weather = 80-90% humidity!
